Thanks for that, i rang three and they actually gave me the wrong settings! i think that when they hear that your phone is an unlocked one rather than a three one they do it on purpose to try and get you to buy a new phone. grr.

oh yeah, and i used the second set of settings on my HTC Sensation…perfect..

None of the settings seen here or on other threads worked for me. I contacted 3 who haven’t a clue. Sent me the wrong setting completely & then told me as it wasn’t a 3 handset that it may not work anyways. Retarded!
What did work for me is as below (Phone: HTC One X)
Name: 3
APN: 3ireland.ie
Proxy: not set
Port: not set
Username: not set
Password: not set
Server: not set
MMSC: http://mms.um.3ireland.ie:10021/mmsc
MMS Proxy: mms.3ireland.ie
MMS Port: 8799
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 272
MNC: 05
Authentication type: None
APN type: default,mms,supl
Hope it works for others. Good luck

Also try “tweakker” app which gives worldwide apn & mms settings

Have tried all the above settings, none of which have worked, have also tried tweaker, I can sent MMS but cant receive them, however strangly enough I got my work colleague to sent me a MMS from his Galaxy S3 which I got, yet I stll can receive when sent from my girlfriends iphone 4s. Is there any other setting I can try. Phone has been reset, apn’s changed and rebooted. I am all out of ideas and cant find anything anywhere online about this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Ah ha! You geniuses. The second one worked for me. Thanks so much. I spent 50 minutes on hold to 3 to ask them to send me settings. Eventually gave up because they never answered. Ridiiculous customer service. Was hard enough to find the settings. Didn’t realise it was standard settings for all Android phones rather than varying for models and brands. (Note: you have to turn off Wifi in order to check that it has worked if using Wifi at the time).

Thanks for letting me know which set worked for you. Good advice regarding switching off wifi in order to test the settings, easy to forget that its on

I really have tried all of these, I’m so stuck please help.
have no MMS protocol option if that’s relevant?

Sorry I assume this is why I am getting E/G instead of 3G yes?
